The award-winning feature film GEGEN DIE WAND by the Hamburg-based filmmaker Faith Akin led to the project of a documentary film portraying the diverse and vibrant music scene of Istanbul: CROSSING THE BRIDGE - The Sound Of Istanbul. The photographs in this volume were taken during the shooting on the film and consequently reveal facets of a city that has fascinated the director from his early childhood days: Istanbul. Music CDs: The musical backdrop to these impressions is provided by a selection of tracks from Fatih Akinrs personal collection, including original and previously unreleased out-takes from this film.
